DreamsDay Spa Specialised Electrolysis

What is Electrolysis?
Superfluous body and facial hair, although quite natural, is a problem for many women and its removal is the most popular beauty service today. Electrolysis is the only proven method of permanent hair removal and it involves the insertion of a fi ne probe into the hair root. A mild current is then passed down the needle to the tip to cauterise the hair root, enabling the hair to be withdrawn. This only takes a few seconds.

Is it Safe?
The treatment is approved by the medical profession and has been available for over 100 years. We always use Sterile Disposable Probes recommended by the Public Health Laboratory Service.
Will I have to take any precautions after treatment?
Avoid sitting in the sun or having a sunbed session for at least 24 hours after treatment. An aftercare lotion is used on the treated area to soothe any heat reaction. It is advisable not to cleanse the area with soap but to gently rinse with warm water. Make-up should be avoided until the day after the treatment, but if this is not possible your electrologist will advise you on the use of a tinted aftercare lotion.

Red Thread Veins

New clients must have a 15 minute complimentary consultation.

What are red veins?
These are small red lines or dilated capillaries, found on the cheeks and around the nose. They can also be seen on the legs, usually on the inside of the knees and on the thighs.

How can they be removed?

A skilled, highly qualified electrologist will be able to remove them for you. A fine probe is placed just under the skin and a small amount of heat is used to cauterise the dilated capillary. This results in the capillary drying up and then disappearing.

What will my skin look like during treatment?
The face will be reddened and even slightly swollen on the day of treatment. For the following few days you may have the odd small scab appear, like a dot. However, discomfort will only last a very short time and the skin heals very quickly with a noticeable reduction in the redness of the area. (It is important not to scratch the scabs off). Do not use sunbeds for one week after and 24 hours before treatment.
